V <br />ORDINANCE NO. 9-6-9 / <br />lHEREAS, the General Assembly of the State of Indiana by a certain <br />bill, known as House Bill 193, approved .March 7, 1945, provided that certain <br />officers of the city shall be paid additional compensation from and out of <br />the funds of a utility owned and operated by it, and <br />ILE.T'AS, by the aforesaid bill such additional compensation was <br />in addition to the annual salary otherwise authorized by law to be paid to <br />said officials, and <br />'1H)!REAS, said bill provided that such additional compensation should <br />not exceed the sum total of p1,200.00*per year, and <br />Tis10HAS, said bill ,ras passed by the General Assembly of Indiana as <br />an emergency matter. <br />NO?11, TIEREFO E, be it ordained by the Com�aon Council of the City of <br />South Bend, Indiana, that: <br />1. The following officers of said City, to -wit: the ',Ivor, City <br />Attorney, City .ngineer, City Controller and City Clerk stall be ,aid additional <br />compensation from and out of the funds of the '.inter `Yorks of said City at the <br />rate of $1,200.OJ per year. <br />2. The proper officers of said city are hereby authorized and directed <br />to make such oayments to said officers beginning with the effective date of this <br />ordinance. <br />3.
