ORDINANCE NO. 3571 <br />BE IT ORDAIAM by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, <br />Indiana, that: <br />Part I. Warm Air Winter Air Conditioning Systems <br />Article I - Definitions <br />Section 1. S "Tartu air, winter air conditioning systems, shall consist <br />of one or more warr_i air heating units within individual housings, or within one <br />common housing, one or more motor - driven blorrers, smoke or vent pipes, individual <br />leader pipes or trunk line systems, or both, with necessary control dampers for <br />warm air and return air lines, automatic controls, registers and intakes; and <br />other appurtenances, such as air filters, air washers, humidifiers, etc., as may <br />be required. <br />Section 2. An individual supply system shall consist of separate <br />ducts, of round or rectangular cross sections, extending from the heating unit. <br />Section 3. A trunk line system consists of one or more main ducts <br />with branches. <br />Section 4. Return ducts may be individual or trunk lines, or a com- <br />bination of both. <br />Section 5. In all cases inhere the term "manual" is used, reference is <br />made to the then existing latest edition of the Code and -anual For The Design <br />and Installation of Warm Air, YJinter Air Conditioning Systems, as issued by the <br />National T`darm Air Heating and Air Conditioning Association, 145 Public Square, <br />Cleveland 14, Ohio. <br />Article 2 - Estimating ;seat Doss From <br />Rooms and Building <br />Section 1. The heat loss in B.t.u. per hour from each room to be <br />heated shall be determined in accordance with the approved method given in the <br />I manual, Section A.
