Authorizing the Purchase of Fire Hose for use by the Fire Department

ORDINANCE NO. 3&9/ AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PU.RO ASE OF WHEREAS, there is required for use by the Fire Department of the City of South Bend, Indiana, certain new fire hose, the purchase price of which ex- ceeds Two Thousand -Dollars (12,000.00), and WHEREAS, the Board "of Public ' ^Torks and_ Safety of the City of South Bend, Indiana, has duly advertised for bids on such and has before it a bid by the _sid West Fire and Safety Equipment Company, of Indianapolis, Indiana, for the following described fire hose; One Thousand ( 1000) feet of two and one - half inch. bi- lateral Motor brand double Jacket fire hose treated, complete with Elkhart Brass slide well couplings, 400 pound test at $1.76 per foot, totalling One Tl- ousand Seven 'Hundred Sixty Dollars ($1,760.00), and Five Hundred (500) feet of one and one- half inch bi- lateral Flexwell brand double ;jacket fire hose treated, complete with Elkhart 3rass slide well couplings, 400 pound test at $1.17 per foot, tota.11in. Five = Tundred Ei�-hty -five Dollars (' 535,00). ;C,l THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, that said City of South Fend by and through the Board of Public Works and Safety and its other proper officers and officials is hereby authorized and empowered to purchase said above described personal property pursuant to the terms of said bid heretofore made to the Board of Public Works and Safety.
