Regulating Use by Vehicles of Property Owned by the City: Providing Rules & Regulations Covering Such Use

ORDINANCE N0. 3,-` 3 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, that: 1. The use by vehicles of every kind and nature of property owned by the City of South Bend, Indiana, be and the same is hereby prohibited, except as is herein provided. 2. The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of South Bend, Indiana, be and it is hereby authorized to adopt reasonable Rules and Regulations governing the use of property owned by the City of South Bend, Indiana, by vehicles of every kind and nature. The said Board may adopt Rules and Regulations prohibiting the use of such property by vehicles, or allowing the use f6r.limited times, or during specific hours. The said Board may restrict the use of said property to vehicles owned by the City of SouthBend, or any of its Departments, or owned by any official, officer, or employee, of the City, provided that such limitations shall be reasonable. 3. If Regulations concerning the use of any particular piece of property owned by said City,are adopted by said Board, then such Regulations shall become effective when a sign or poster of reason- able size is prepared and placed at, near, or upon such property, stating the limitations concerning the use thereof by vehicles. 4. Each person, firm or corporation, violating the provisions of this Ordinance, and the Rules and Regulations of the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of South Bend, relating thereto, shall be subject to a fine of not more than $50.00 for each such offense. 5. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage by the Common Council, its approval by the Mayor, and its,legal publication.
