REGULAR MEETING MARCH 09, 2015 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Councilmember Oliver Davis and Councilmember Henry Davis Jr., 227 W Jefferson Blvd. South <br />Bend, Indiana, made the presentation for this Resolution by reading it in its entirety and <br />presenting it to Journalist Cindy Ward. <br /> <br />A Public Hearing was held on the Resolution at this time. <br /> <br />There was no one present wishing to speak to the Council either in favor of or in opposition to <br />this Resolution. <br /> <br />Councilmember Valerie, states she appreciates Cindy’s fact checking when presenting a story <br />and thanks Cindy for her service. <br /> <br />Councilmember Varner, states he’d like to mirror Councilmember Schey’s comments and thanks <br />Cindy Ward for her service and wishes her the best. <br /> <br />Councilmember Dieter, states it’s great to see people do the good work Cindy has done and stay <br />in the community he wishes her the best. <br /> <br />Councilmember Gavin Ferlic, thanks Cindy Ward and reminisced about watching her as a young <br />kid, he thanks Cindy Ward for service as well. <br /> <br />Councilmember White, states she has also enjoyed watching Cindy Ward as well throughout the <br />year’s she wishes Cindy luck and thanks her for being trustworthy and for her service to the <br />community. Councilmember White also thanks Councilmembers Oliver Davis and Henry Davis <br />Jr., for honoring Cindy Ward. <br /> <br />Councilmember Henry Davis Jr., states he appreciates how committed Cindy Ward has been to <br />her profession and how she stayed the course which is very uncommon today. Thank you again <br />for showing us a good example of what commitment looks like. <br /> <br />Councilmember Oliver Davis, states he’s always enjoyed her and appreciates what she does <br />behind the scenes, thought honoring Cindy Ward was very necessary. <br /> <br />Councilmember Scott, states she’s done a thoroughly increditable job in the twenty years he’s <br />been here in the area. Councilmember Scott would like to also thank her for a job well done. <br /> <br /> <br />Cindy thanked the Council for this Resolution. Cindy stated that it’s very gratifying to be <br />recognized by the leaders in her home town she’s enjoyed working with them all and states it is <br />much appreciated and has been a pleasure! Ends with thanking them all again. <br /> <br />This being the time heretofore set for the Public Hearing on the above bill, proponents and <br />opponents were given an opportunity to be heard. <br /> <br />There being no one present wishing to speak to the Council either in favor or in opposition to this <br />bill, Councilmember Valerie made a motion to adopt the Resolution by acclamation <br />Councilmember Varner seconded the motion which carried by a voice vote of eight (8) ayes. <br /> <br /> <br />REPORTS OF CITY OFFICES <br />There were no reports from City Offices at this time representing the City Kathryn Roos in the <br />audience. <br /> <br /> <br />RESOLVE INTO THE COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE <br />At 7:16 p.m. Councilmember Gavin made a motion to resolve into the Committee of the Whole. <br />Councilmember Oliver seconded the motion which carried by a voice vote of eight (8) ayes. <br />Councilmember White, Chairperson, presiding. <br /> <br />3 <br /> <br /> <br />
