ORDINANCE N0. 3 �0 <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING FROM THE GENERAL STREET AND TRAFFIC <br />J FUND OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, THE FOLLOWING AMOUNTS <br />TO THE INDICATED ACCOUNTS OF THE 1948 BUDGETS STREET DEPARTm <br />VENT, S..22 WAGES, $34#535.10; STREET DEPARTMENT, S-360 OFFICE <br />SUPPLIES, 1250.00; STREET DEPARTMENT, S-SB# GENERAL SUPPLIES# <br />$10000.00; STREET DEPARTMENT, 3.+3310 GASOLINE AND OIL# $3,500.00; <br />STREET DEPARTMENT, 5 -333, TIRES AND TUBES, $10000.00; STREET <br />DEPARTMENT, 5-3340 OTHER GARAGE AND MOTOR SUPPLIES# $500.00; <br />STREET DEPARTMENT, 5-4510 PARTS AND EQUIPMENT, $2 #000.00; <br />AND DECLARING AN EXTRAORDINARY EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS# the budgetary accounts for the Street Department of the City of <br />South Bend, Indiana, in the budget for the calendar year of 1946, were insufficient <br />to provide for the necessary labor, materials, equipment and supplies with which <br />to carry on the work of the Street Department efficiently, and <br />WHEREAS, the said budget for the calendar year of 1946 provided for fewer <br />operators than there were pieces of equipment available for daily use and operation <br />by the Street Department# and <br />WHEREAS# it is the desire of the Street Department to utilise every available <br />piece of equipment which it owns in order to improve our streets and render more <br />extensive and efficient service to the citizens of this .00mmunity to the and that <br />the streets of the City of South Bend shall be maintained in a good state of repairs <br />clear of debris and free from snow and ice insofar as manpower and equipment will <br />allow said tasks to be accomplikhed# and <br />WHEREAS, the Street Department has made a careful survey of its existing <br />equipment, manpower, supplies and materials and finds that in order to carry on <br />its work efficiently it will require additional appropriations for the year 1948= <br />now, therefore <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, <br />that s <br />Section 1.
