..41. <br />In cases of emergency, where necessary for safety to persons or <br />property, or where electrical equipment may interfere with the <br />work of the fire department, the Electrical Inspector shall have <br />the authority to immediately disconnect or cause the disconnect- <br />ions of any electrical equipment, <br />The Electrical Inspector may delegate any of his powers <br />or duties to any of his assistants. <br />SECTION 5. Electrical Examining Board Created. <br />There is hereby created an Electrical Examining Board <br />of the City of South Bend, hereinafter designated as the "Board`, <br />which shall consist of five (5) members to be appointed by the <br />Mayor, as follows: Three (3) members shall be Class A Contractors.. <br />one (1) member shall be a professional electrical engineer, and <br />one (1) member shall be a Class A Electrical construction Journey- <br />man. Of the five (5) members appointed, two (2) shall serve for <br />a term of (1) year, two (2) for a term of two (2) years, and one <br />(1) for a term of three (3) years., and thereafter each appoint- <br />ment shall be for a term of three (3) years or until a successor <br />is appointed. The Mayor shall appoint one of the members to act <br />as Chairman of the Board. Any appointed member may be removed <br />from office by the Mayor, Each appointed member shall receive <br />the sum of Five (.,5.00) Dollars for each day during which he has <br />attended a meeting of the Board. <br />Records of the meetings of the Board shall be open to <br />the public for inspection at all times, The Board shall keep a <br />record of all licenses and certificates and shall have printed a <br />manual of its rules and regulations for the conduct of examinations. <br />SECTION 6. Duties and Authority of Electrical Examining Board <br />The Board shall hold a regular meeting twice during each <br />year on the first Monday in March and the first Monday in August, <br />at the call of the Mayor and Chairman of the Board, for the examin- <br />ation of applicants for licenses providing any such applications <br />are pending. It shall be the duty o" said Board to examine the <br />reports of persons, firms or corporations who apply for licenses; <br />to issue certificates therefore to qualified applicants who have <br />paid the prescribed fees, and to revoke or suspend any license on <br />the grounds set forth in this Ordinance. <br />
