Danch, L.A., ASLA <br />Ron Harper, P.S. <br />Ms. Linda Martin <br />Board of Public Works Secretary <br />13'h Floor County-City Building <br />South Bend, Indiana 46601 <br />Land Surveyors • Professional Engineers <br />Landscape Architects • Land Planners <br />January 23, 2015 <br />RE: Favorable recommendation to allow the vacation of several Alleys & Streets bounded by Kemble <br />Street on the West, the Norfolk & Southern Railroad (Old Penn Central RR) on the North, Scott Street on <br />the East and Indiana Avenue on the South all in the City of South Bend, Indiana: <br />Dear Board Members; <br />Please accept this letter as our firm's written request on behalf of our client, City of South Bend and <br />the Department of Community Investment for the City to request that the South Bend Board of Public <br />Works grant a favorable recommendation to vacate all public Alleys & Streets bounded by Kemble Street <br />on the West, the Norfolk & Southern Railroad (Old Penn Central RR) on the North, Scott Street on the <br />East and Indiana Avenue on the South all in the City of South Bend, Indiana. <br />The City of South Bend and the Department of Community Investment are in the process of <br />developing the property for next portion of Ignition Park which will be known as "Ignition Park South ". <br />For the convenience of the Board Members we have attached a diagram showing the project area. We <br />have highlighted in yellow on that plan all the existing Alleys and Streets we are requesting a vacation. <br />We have submitted a Vacation request to the City Clerk's office for above project area. That Vacation <br />Petition is scheduled to be heard before the City Council on March 9'h. As part of the Vacation process we <br />are required to receive a recommendation from the Board of Public Works regarding said vacation <br />request. <br />On behalf of our clients we would ask for a favorable recommendation on the request to vacate said <br />public alleys and streets. <br />If you have any questions please feel free to give me a call at 234 -4003. <br />�i erety, <br />ichael J.
