Kidder Annexation J. Councilmanic District The Annexation Area will be in City Councilmanic District 1. K. Hiring Plan It is anticipated that this annexation will not result in the elimination of jobs for employees of other governmental units, although the City is not required to hire any employees whose jobs have been eliminated by an annexation. SECTION III. MUNICIPAL SERVICES A. Public Works An existing 8 -inch sanitary sewer runs north in an easement along the west side of Olive Road, from W Cleveland Road to the Toll Road. An existing 36 -inch gravity flow sanitary sewer in Cleveland Road extends approximately 720 feet west of the intersection of Olive and Cleveland Roads. West of this point, the sewer is a force main and not available for sewer taps. This sewer has the capacity to handle the additional load of the Annexation Area. No storm sewer exists abutting this property. Potential public works projects are currently being studied by the Redevelopment Commission. Any public improvements made within the annexed area shall be at the expense of the developer. Additional right -of -way will be required, and be dedicated through the subdivision approval process. The Department of Public Works will be able to maintain any additional public improvements without additional capital expense. The South Bend Water Works has a 12 -inch water main in Brick and W. Cleveland Roads. No additional improvements would be needed to provide water to the annexed area. The Department of Public Works and the South Bend Water Works would not anticipate any additional costs to provide services to the Annexation Area. Extensions of, or taps into sanitary sewer and water lines shall be governed by I.C. 36- 9 -22 -2, I.C. 8 -1.5 -3 and -4, and the rules and regulations of the South Bend Water Works and Sewer Utility.
