Resolution No. % $ 2- S -00 <br />_ <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, <br />INDIANA, COMMENDING SEAN COLEMAN FOR TWO (2) YEARS OF SERVICE AS THE <br />COUNCIL PRESIDENT <br />'Q btrta0, the Common Council notes that § 2 -6 of the South Bend Municipal <br />Code sets forth the duties of the Council President, some of which include: <br />1. Presiding over all regular, special and informal meetings of the Council, <br />2. Preserving strict order and decorum, <br />3. Deciding all questions of order, <br />4. Appointing all standing committees, <br />5. Appointing all special committees which may be ordered by the Council, <br />6. Filling all vacancies which may occur in any of the standing committees, and <br />7. Performing any function proper and necessary for the effective and efficient <br />operation of the office as deemed in the public interest; and <br />Wbitrt88, the Council further notes that Council Member Sean Coleman was <br />elected as the Council President for calendar year 1998 and again for calendar year 1999 <br />and diligently carried out all of the Council President's statutory duties; and <br />'O htrtag, Council Member Coleman will long be remembered for embellishing <br />the duties of the Council President by establishing a series of working meetings over dinner <br />and formulating many field trips to places throughout the city, so that the Council could see <br />new ventures first hand and have the opportunity to inquire about such projects and new <br />ventures; and <br />V &Tta$, the Common Council THANKS Council Member Coleman for his dedication <br />and hard -work as its Council President for the past two (2) years. <br />Xob, 9bert£ort, bit it rtsolLo by the Common council of the cite of ooutb <br />Vtnb, Inbiana, as follows: <br />Ottti0n 3. On behalf of all of the residents of the City of South Bend, Indiana, the <br />Common Council thanks and commends COUNCIL MEMBER SEAN COLEMAN for his <br />two (2) years of dedicated service as Council President. <br />Zttti= 31. The Common Council wishes Sean continued success and the very best of <br />the new year with his wife, Kate, and his daughter, Maggie, who did an excellent job of officially <br />swearing in her father for another four (4) year term as Council Member at Large for the City of <br />South Bend, Indiana. <br />*ttti0n 333.
