RESOLUTION NO. , Z M-00 A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, COMMENDING ROD SNIADECKI FOR HIS 3 YEARS OF PUBLIC SERVICE AS A COUNCIL MEMBER AT LARGE WHEREAS, the South Bend Common Council acknowledges that Rod Sniadecki is completing his third year as a Council Member at Large; and WHEREAS, during his term on the Common Council, Council Member Sniadecki showed deep compassion and concern for the citizens he served and those who asked for his assistance; and WHEREAS, some of Council Member Sniadecki's activities included serving on the wage and benefit negotiating team which bargained with the Teamsters, and being the Council's representative on the Area Plan Commission; and WHEREAS, as Chairperson of the Utilities Committee, Council Member Sniadecki assured all concerned citizens of their right to be heard when the City of South Bend was contemplating the construction of a new water tower; and WHEREAS, Council Member Sniadecki gave special attention to the needs of city employees as evidenced by his hearings on the "snow day issue" brought to his attention by members of the Teamsters Union; and WHEREAS, Council Member Sniadecki will be remembered for his sincere commitment to everyday citizens of our community for whom he fought and championed their causes. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, as follows: Section I. On behalf of all the citizens of the City of South Bend, Indiana, the Common Council thanks ROD SNIADECKI for his three (3) years of service as a Council Member at Large for the City of South Bend. Section II. The Common Council wishes Rod continued success in his law career and in the many new challenges in the year 2000 and beyond. Section III. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption by the Common Council and approval by the Mayor.
