ORDINANCE NO. 341L <br />AN ORDINANCE CREATING SPECIAL POLICE AUXIL- <br />WHEREAS, the hazards of increasing vehicular <br />traffic upon the streets of South Bend endanger the safety <br />of school children at and near the public and parochial <br />schools of South Bend, and <br />WHEREAS, it is necessary in the protection of the <br />safety of school children that vehicular traffic at and <br />near the public and parochial schools of South Bend be <br />more adequately controlled, <br />NOW THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council <br />of the City of South Bend, Indiana, that; <br />1.. A special police auxiliary school patrol of <br />thirty -two (32) persons be and it hereby is created and <br />authorized, the members thereof to be appointed as now pro- <br />vided by law. <br />2. The salary of such said special police auxil- <br />iary school patrol shall be at the rate of Fifty Dollars <br />($50.00) per person per month. <br />3. The following monies are hereby transferred <br />from the General Fund of the City of South Bend, Indiana, <br />and are appropriated to the uses and purposes of the <br />following budgetary items in the budget of the City of <br />South Bend, Indiana, for the year 1947, to -wit; To P -11, <br />Salaries and Wages, Police Department, 634,800.00; to <br />
