ORDINANCE NO* <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING FROM THE STATE CIGARETTE <br />TAX HIGHffAY DISTRIBUTION FUND THE SUM OF FORTY-FIVE <br />THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED FOURTEEN DOLLARS AND SIX <br />CENTS ($458,814608) FOR REPAIR AND MAT NTENANCE OF <br />HIGHWAYS, STREETS AND ALLEYS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH <br />BEND, INDIANA, AND DECLARING THE EXISTENCE OF AN <br />EXTRAORDINARY EMERGENCY* <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, <br />Indiana, that bye reason of the distribution by the State of Indiana of <br />a portion of the Cigarette Tax Fund to this Municipality in the sum of <br />$450814 *069 and by reason of the fact that the streets and alleys and <br />their appurtenances of this Municipality are in poor repair and are <br />constantly deteriorating and require immediate attention and an <br />emergency now exists for the expenditure of more money therefor during <br />the current year than was set out in the published budget and in the <br />budget adopted for the current year an emergency exists for the <br />making of additional appropriations therefor* <br />BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that there should be and is hereby <br />appropriated from said monies so received from the State of Indiana <br />for the following purposes, to -wit: <br />1.
