ORDINANCE NO. ,3 G <br />AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING THE PERIODS OF PAYMENT <br />OF SALARIES TO O:ICERS AND EMPLOYEES OF THE <br />CITY, AND PROVIDING FOR SICK -LEAVE AND VACATION <br />TIME; AND REPEALING CONFLICTING ORDINANCES OR <br />PARTS OF ORDINANCES. <br />WHEREAS the 1947 Indiana General Assembly passed a bill entitled <br />"An Act Concerning payment for personal services of officers and employees <br />of the state and its political subdivisions, repealing all laws in conflict, <br />and declaring an emergency "; and <br />AREAS, in accordance with a directive of said $et, the State Board <br />of Accounts ins prescribed the forms of accounts and vouchers to be used in <br />connection with payment for personal services of officers and employees of <br />the state and its political subdivisions; therefore <br />BE IT ORDAIIIED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indianan <br />Section 1. That after June 1st, 1948, payments for personal services <br />to all officers and employees of the Municipal City of South Bend, Indiana, <br />and all of its Departments, shall be made semi - monthly not later than on <br />the 5th and 20th day of each month for the preceding half month. <br />Section 2. That each and every officer and employee of the City and <br />of each Department thereof, shall be entitled to an annual siokwleave of <br />fifteen (15) days, which shall be cunulative to thirty (30) days; provided, <br />however, that any occupational disease, or any injury or illness, arising <br />out of and in the course of employment, or in the performance of duty, <br />shall not be construed to come within the provisions of this section, but <br />the same shall be subject to the laws ano6 rdinances now in force or here- <br />after enacted relating to such contingencies; and provided further that <br />the provisions of this Section shall not in any way apply to the personnel <br />of the Police and Fire Departments. <br />Section 3* That all officers and employees of the City, and of each <br />Department thereof, shall be entitled to fifteen (15) days annual vacation* <br />Section 4r That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict <br />herewith are hereby repealed* <br />Section 57 This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from <br />and after its passage. <br />Member . _ mo <br />lr.; ".2nd PEAT)!" <br />Y TTEE CF THE VjM <br />.rd f;EADii�j G <br />2EFERRED <br />FASSED [�G� <br />
