ORDINANCE NO. , ;? 0 AN ORDINANCE APPROVING CONTRACTS N.ADE AND ENTERED INTO ON BEHALF OF THE SOUTH BEND CITY WATER WORKS, SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, BY THE BOARD OF WATER WORKS CONMISSIONERS FOR THE PURCHASE OF THE FOLLOWING MATERIALS AND EQUIPAE TT: CONTRACT WITH CHECKLEY CONTRACTORS, INC., FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF 24t1 SOUTH SIDE MAIN, $76,647.54; CONTRACT WITH LAYNE NORTHERN COMPANY, INC., FOR TWO (2) GRAVEL WALL TYPE WELLS, $34,600.00; CONTRACT WITH SOUTH BEND SUPPLY COMPANY FOR TWO (2) DEEP WELL TURBINE PUMPS, $20,300.00; CONTRACT WITH HAINES & HAINES FOR, INSTALLATION OF WATER 1AINS FOR WELLS, $11,582.00; CONTRACT WITH CARL S. REINKE & SON FOR TWO (2) WELL HOUSES, $16,028.93; CONTRACT WITH SOUTH SIDE ELECTRICAL COA'PANY FOR ELECTRICAL WORK FOR NEW WELLS, $4,900.00. Whereas, certain equipment and materials are required by the South Bend City Water Works for the proper and efficient function of said department; and Whereas, said items have been properly advertised in accordance with law soliciting bids for said equipment; and Whereas, the Board of Water Works Commissioners of the City of South Bend, Indiana, has entered into contracts for the purchase of the required materials and equipment; and Whereas, monies to purchase same are available in the Water Works General Fund; now, therefore BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COVVON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA: Section 1. That the following contracts entered into by the South Bend City Water Works, through its Board of Water Works Commissioners, copies of which are herewith attached and made a part hereof, be and the same are hereby confirmed, ratified and approved: NAME ITEM AMOUNT Checkley Contractors, Inc. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage by the Common Council and its approval by the Mayor.
