<br />A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND,
<br />LIANA, HONORING THE UNIVERSITY OF NOTRE DAME WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

<br />Vile IWO, the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, notes that on Monday,
<br />April 2, 2001 around 2 am., over 2,000 cheering Notre Dame Students and residents of South Bend
<br />were on campus to welcome home the University of Notre Dame Women's Basketball Team and staff .
<br />after winning the NCAA title game in St. Louis, Missouri over Purdue by a score of 68 -66; and
<br />Vbereal8, the "Team of Destiny" was 34-2 with countless individual awards and honors
<br />being won, as well as winning the hearts of their fans during this unbelieveable season; and
<br />Mereats, the South Bend Common Council is proud to honor each of the members of the
<br />2001 NCAA Women's Basketball Champions, namely:

<br />Section I. On behalf of all of the citizens of South Bend, Indiana, the Common Council hereby
<br />publicly honors the NOTRE DAME WONIEN'S BASKETBALL TEAM who are the 2001 NCAA Champions!!!
<br />Section II. The Common Council commends each of the student atheletes for their many talents,
<br />and for the countless memories which this "Team of Destiny" has given all of us for many years to
<br />come.
<br />Section III. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption by the
<br />Common Council and approval by the Mayor.
