Building <br />August 6, 1952 <br />Council of the City of South Bend <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Gentlemen: <br />We are filing herewith our petition for rezoning part of <br />Bank out lot Number 26, as described in our petition. <br />Said lot is located on the northwest corner of Taylor <br />and Washington Streets and is 93.39 feet on Washington <br />Street and 169.36 on Taylor Street. <br />Presently there is a gasoline station on this lot. We <br />desire to rezone the said lot from "B" residence district <br />to "C" commercial district, "I'" height and area. <br />It is our intention of having this matter rezoned to build <br />a structure consisting of professional offices housing <br />three units, approximate size of 80 feet facing Washington <br />Street and 20 feet on Taylor Street. <br />The gasoline station which is presently on this property <br />is of an unsightly nature and decreases the value of the <br />surrounding property. <br />This gasoline station will be replaced with an attractive <br />office structure of modern design which will be a credit <br />to the community and will increase the value of all the <br />surrounding property. <br />It is necessary for your Honorable body to permit us to <br />rezone the above real — estate as requested in order that we <br />may proceed with the building plans. <br />IG:rg <br />Yours very truly, <br />
