6. St. Joseph County shall own and supply South Bend with one (1)advance support <br />vehicle with all necessary equipment and with three (3) heavy duty ambulances with all <br />necessary equipment, including any additional equipment required by the ALS Committee <br />of St. Joseph County. <br />St. Joseph County shall pay to South Bend an annual payment of One Million Five <br />Hundred Ninety -six Thousand Two Hundred Seventy -nine Dollars ($1,596,279.00) in the <br />year2003 and One Million Six Hundred Sixty -eight Thousand One Hundred Twelve Dollars <br />($1,668,112.00) in the year 2004. For the years 2005, 2006, and 2007, the annual <br />payments shall be increased from the 2004 base to reflect any additional labor costs the <br />City of South Bend may incur, based on the Collective Bargaining Agreement it signs with <br />International Firefighter's Local #362. Each year's annual payment shall be made in equal <br />monthly increments. In addition St. Joseph County shall reimburse South Bend for any <br />necessary costs South Bend actually incurs in connection with any on -duty injury suffered <br />in connection with the agreement, both under I.C. 36 -8-4 -5 and, if recall is necessary, for <br />the replacement cost of the firefighter so injured. <br />7. Until such time as modified by the joint board, South Bend may charge <br />ambulance /medical user fees in accordance with §10 -20 -050 of the St. Joseph County <br />Code as set forth in the attached Exhibit A. <br />8. South Bend shall make reasonable efforts to collect from the U n incorporated County <br />ambulance patients served under this agreement all due payments and shall return all such <br />monies collected to St. Joseph County within thirty (30) days of receipt, except as provided <br />herein. South Bend will provide detailed monthly reports to St. Joseph County concerning <br />collections, payments, and runs made pursuant to this agreement. South Bend shall <br />reimburse Liberty Township Ambulance Service, the town of Walkerton, Union North <br />Ambulance Service and New Carlisle Ambulance Service fifty percent (50 %) of any <br />payment received for services rendered for an ALS assist in said localities priorto disbursal <br />of funds to St. Joseph County. <br />
