<br />A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND,
<br />INDIANA, COMMENDING THE ST. JOSEPH HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS SOCCER TEAM
<br />FOR BEING THE 2003 INDIANA STATE RUNNERS -UP
<br />WbCrW9, the South Bend Common Council is proud to honor the following student -
<br />athletes who are members of the 2003 St. Joseph High School Girls Soccer Team:

<br />'QUtiereas, the Common Council would also like to commend Varsity Head Coach Johan
<br />Kuitse, Assistants Phil DePauw, Marianne Giolitto & Carnie Applegate; Principal Katheen
<br />Ratliff, Athletic Director Dale Hierlmeier, and Susan Lightcap of Media Relations of Saint
<br />Joseph's High School, who have all been instrumental in providing positive guidance to the
<br />2003 St. Joseph's High School Girls Soccer Team; and
<br />Obt,Vea8, the Council is especially proud to note that 19 of the student - athletes have a
<br />GPA of 3.55 or higher, and 8 team members are National Honor Society members; and
<br />1 bglVeag, on November 1, 2003 the 2003 St. Joseph's High School Girls Soccer Team
<br />moved to the state championship game by defeating Bloomington South 3 -0; and played with
<br />enthusiasm and valor against Carmel..

<br />Section I. On behalf of all of the citizens of South Bend, Indiana, the Common Council
<br />hereby publicly honors the 2003 ST. JOSEPH HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS SOCCER TEAM for a
<br />great season of intense and focused soccer, and for the unforgettable memories which each of
<br />girls created during their journey to becoming the 2003 IHSAA State Runners -up in girls
<br />soccer in the State of Indiana.
<br />Section II. The Common Council commends each of these student - athletes, their coaches,
<br />manager, team associates, their families and friends, for their many special talents, both on and
<br />off the playing field, in proudly wearing the St. Joseph's High School colors of Columbia blue
<br />& white; and for enthusiastically representing the City of South Bend, Indiana, by bringing
<br />honor to themselves, their school, and to our entire community.
<br />Section III. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption by
<br />the Cotyxen Council and apgroval by the Mayor.
