ORDINANCE NO . ~ 1 2~ - ~V <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, <br />INDIANA, AMENDING ARTICLE 10, SIGN REGULATIONS, OF CHAPTER 21, <br />ZONING, OF THE SOUTH BEND MUNICIPAL CODE BY REVISING AND ADDING <br />TO THE LOCATION REQUIREMENTS OF OUTDOOR ADVERTISING SIGNS AND <br />REVISING THE TIME FRAME FOR ISSUING SIGN PERMITS <br />STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT <br />The purpose of this ordinance is to amend Chapter 21 of the <br />Municipal Code to modify the distance regulations regarding <br />outdoor advertising signs. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. Section 21.170.(6)(d)(5)of Article 10 Chapter <br />21 of the South Bend Municipal Code is amended to read as <br />follows: <br />Sec. 21.170.(6) "C" Commercial, "D" Light Industrial, <br />and "E" Heavy Industrial Districts: <br />(d)(5) The minimum distance between a new outdoor <br />advertising sign and an existing outdoor advertising <br />sign located on the same side of the street shall be <br />. seven hundred <br />fifty feet (750') . <br />(d)(6) The minimum distance between a new outdoor <br />advertising sign and an existing outdoor advertising <br />sign located on the same side of a limited-access <br />highway shall be one thousand feet (1000'), nor shall <br />
