Those policies <br />were implemented when the Ipads were rolled out for the Council. Supplemental <br />David Varner social media and social networking policies were shared with the Council in June <br />Fifth District of this year, with ongoing input and research taking place thereafter. <br />Oliver J. Davis Proposed new Section 2 -9.1 incorporates "best practices" in each of these areas. <br />Sixth District Our research reviewed many municipal policies which have been used by various <br />offices. We also reviewed policies used by the federal government. For example, <br />Derek D. White . `By exercising discretion and common sense when employing social media for <br />At Large professional or personal purposes, you will help assure that their great potential <br />is fully realized without inadvertently compromising our professional, legal, or <br />ethical standards... remember that standards of ethical behavior and other ethics <br />policies are applicable" (November 18, 2010 DOI Social Media Policy, pg. 4) <br />The Council Information and Technology Committee has had multiple discussions <br />on the fast - changing landscape of the Internet and online communications with the <br />public. As technology advances, the policies and procedures will be reviewed on <br />
