Resolution No. 3 2 73 -o3 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH <br />BEND, INDIANA, COMMENDING JAMES ARANO`VSKI <br />FOR HIS DEDICATED YEARS OF SERVICE AS THE <br />FIRST DISTRICT COUNCIL MEMBER <br />WW 'Ws, the South Bend Common Council is proud to honor James Aranowski, who <br />succeeded Stephen J. Luecke in representing the residents and business owners of the lst <br />Councilmanic District; and <br />W*'eas, the Common Council recognizes that as the Chairperson of the Personnel and <br />Finance Committee, Council Member Aranowski has chaired a countless number of committee <br />meetings where he provided keen insights when reviewing the proposed civil city budgets and <br />appropriation ordinances over the years; and <br />Wliereas, the Council would also like to recognize Council Member Aranowski's <br />leadership in having served as the Council's Vice- President and also his service as a member of <br />the City Negotiating Teams where he provided valuable direction and leadership; and <br />lftreas, Council Member Aranowski sponsored timely and needed legislation this year <br />which implemented new public safety regulations for large eating and drinking establishments <br />which operate in downtown South Bend, which will continue to foster safe environments for <br />those wishing to patronize such facilities, as the downtown area continues to flourish and <br />attract many residents and visitors to its many attractions; and <br />96"WO, Council Member Aranowski currently serves on the Parks, Recreation, <br />Cultural Arts and Entertainment Committee; the Information and Technology Committee; the <br />Public Works and Property Vacation Committee; and the Utilities Committee, in addition to <br />being the Chairperson of the Personnel and Finance Committee and in each of these capacities <br />he provides useful data in proudly representing the interests of the residents and businesses in <br />the Ist District of South Bend, Indiana. <br />not), therefore, be it resolvo by * Contuton couneil of ilia City of & Utb <br />�Vmb, Inbiana, as follows: <br />Section I. On behalf of all of the citizens of South Bend, Indiana, the Common Council <br />hereby publicly honors the 1ST DISTRICT COUNCIL MEMBER JAMES ARANOWSKI for his <br />dedicated years of service to the City of South Bend and especially the residents and business <br />owners of the 1st District. <br />Section II. The Common Council cOmmendS 1ST DISTRICT COUNCIL MEMBER JAMES <br />ARANOWSKI for his many contributions to our community; and wishes him continued <br />success with his brother, David, in providing professional accounting services. <br />Section III. The Council wishes "Jimmer" and his bride, Robin, many great years ahead as <br />they cheer on the Chicago Cubs and the Fighting Irish, and the Council further wishes them <br />many rounds of golf on courses both here and abroad. <br />Section IV. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption by <br />the Common Council and approval by the Mayor. <br />Charlotte D.
