RESOLUTION NO. U-90-05 A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, PUBLICLY COMMENDING DEBORAH A. MARTIN, BUREAU OF GIS MANAGER FOR BEING AWARDED THE GISP CERTIFICATION %Xwlxeaa, the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, is proud to recognize that Deborah A. Martin has been the Bureau of GIS Manager in the Department of Public Works for the City of South Bend since February of 2000; and v!'X.eireaa, the Bureau of GIS is involved in the strategic development of map databases, tracking of departmental and utility infrastructures for the City of South Bend, and collaborating with many other departments and agencies in planning and providing expert detailed analysis affecting the future growth and development of the city; and Wej, a , the Council recognizes that recently Deborah A. Martin was awarded the Geographical Information System Profession (GISP) Certification and is now one of eighteen (18) people in the State of Indiana and one of 717 people worldwide who have earned this professional distinction and honor which was awarded by the GIS Certification Institute; and Wiwmaa, a GIS Certification is career recognition of excellence by the GIS Certification Institute which conducts a detailed evaluation process by individuals engaged in the field of geographic information systems and focuses on educational achievement, ethical conduct, professional experiences and practices of the professionals who work in this field. On behalf of all of the citizens of the City of South Bend, Indiana, the Common Council hereby publicly thanks and commends Deborah A. Martin, Bureau of GIS Manager for the City of South Bend, Indiana for her dedication to professional excellence in being awarded the Geographical Information System Professional certification. Section II. The South Bend Common Council is proud to recognize that Deborah A. Martin has brought honor to herself; her family, colleagues, and friends; the Bureau of GIS, and the City of South Bend, Indiana in attaining this professional distinction which will benefit and enhance the City's capabilities of computer mapping, computer tables and graphic representations.
