ORDINANCE NO. 3027 <br />An Ordinance of the City of South Bend, Indiana <br />appropriating the sum of One_. Hundred Fifty <br />Thousand Dollars (:150,000.00) to be applied <br />on the cost of acquisition of land and equipment <br />necessary for the collection and disposal by <br />said City of garbage in said City, and expenses <br />incurred in connection therewith. <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City <br />of South Bend, Indiana, has found that it would be for the best <br />interests of said City and necessary for the health and welfare <br />of its citizens to provide for the collection and disposal of <br />garbage in said City, by said City, thereby providing a regular <br />and dependable means of removal of garbage in said City, and <br />has determined that the estimated cost of acquisition of land <br />and equipment, and the incidental expenses necessary to be <br />incurred on account of said project and in connection with the <br />issuance of bonds on account thereof, will be in the approximate <br />amount of One Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars 01501000.00); and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works and Safety has filed a <br />request for an appropriation in the amount of One Hundred Fifty <br />Thousand Dollars ('150,000.00) for said purpose, which request <br />has been approved by the City Controller of said City, with the <br />recommendation that the funds necessary to cover such appropriation <br />be obtained by the issuance and sale of general obligation bonds <br />in an amount not exceeding the sum of One Hundred Fifty Thousand <br />Dollars (0150,000.00) for the purpose of procuring funds to be <br />applied on the cost of acquisition of land and equipment necessary <br />for the collection and disposal of 'garbage in said City, which <br />petition the Council has found to be si llficient under the <br />provi- <br />sions of said act; and <br />WHEREAS, the Council now finds that the collection and <br />disposal of garbage by said City will provide the City with an <br />improved and adequate garbage removal service and will be of general <br />
