RATTVVTVr, ANn rnVVTT)MTATS A <br />WHEREAS, heretofore, to -wit: on the 26th day of January, <br />1953, the City of South Bend, Indiana, acting by and through its Board <br />of Public Works and Safety, entered into the following contract with <br />Northern Indiana Transit, Inc.: <br />C O N T R A C T <br />THIS CONTRACT, made and entered into this 26th day of <br />January, 1953, by and between the CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, <br />acting by and through its Board of Public Works and Safety, <br />hereinafter called the First Party, and NORTHERN INDIANA TRAN- <br />SIT, INC., a corporation organized under the laws of the State <br />of Indiana, its successors and assigns, hereinafter called the <br />Second Party. <br />WITNESSETH: <br />The parties hereto agree that the certain contract made be- <br />tween the parties and confirmed by Ordinance of the Common <br />Council of the City of South Bend, on or about the 13th day <br />of May, 1940, as amended by a contract entered into on the <br />13th day of February, 1948 between the parties and thereafter <br />confirmed by the Common Council, and as further amended by a <br />contract entered into on the 8th day of July, 1950 between <br />the parties and thereafter confirmed by the Common Council, <br />and as further amended by contract entered into on the 10th <br />day of March, 1952, and thereafter confirmed by the Common <br />Coundil, shall be and is hereby amended in each of the follow- <br />ing respects: <br />All provisions in said contract, as amended, regarding the <br />cash fare of 1W and token fare of 2 tokens for 25¢, and 5¢ <br />school fare now existing, are amended as follows, to -wit: <br />Cash fare . . . . . W <br />Token fare _$ tokens for 500 <br />(Each token giving a passenger the right <br />to one ride or trip on a bus). <br />School fare <br />High School Students . 10¢ cash <br />Grade School Students. . . . 50 cash <br />All provisions in said contract, as amended, regarding <br />transfers, shall remain the same. <br />The Second Party shall furnish service to the public <br />over the routes now presently established. <br />
