which may be applied to said projects, making it necessary to <br />authorize the issuance of bonds of the city in order to procure <br />such funds, and that an extraordinary emergency exists for the <br />making of the additional appropriation hereinafter set out; <br />Now, Therefore <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA: <br />Section 1. That the sum of One Million Dollars <br />($1.000, 000. 00) be appropriated out of the proceeds of the bonds <br />heretofore authorized to be issued by the Common Council de- <br />signated as "City of South Bend, Municipal Bonds of 1956 ", for <br />the use of the Board of Public Works and Safety in paying the cost <br />of construction, re- construction and improvement of streets, <br />the program to include these minimums: <br />1. Widening, paving and re- surfacing East <br />Jefferson Boulevard an area not less than <br />from 26th Street to Logan Street. <br />2. Widening and re- surfacing a portion of <br />Indiana Avenue. <br />3. Widening and re- surfacing Olive Street <br />from Sample Street south to Prairie Avenue. <br />4. Paving and re- surfacing a portion of West <br />Sample Street. <br />Section 2.
