Substitute Bill No. 17 -14 <br />Responsible Animal and Pet Ownership Care and Control Regulation Ordinance <br />Page 56 <br />(c) Three (3) members of the Animal Control Commission shall constitute a quorum to <br />do business. <br />(d) Copies of all Animal Control Commission agendas shall be electronically sent to <br />the Law Department, Division of Animal Care and Control, Office of the City Clerk, and the <br />Chairpersons of the Council's Health and Public Safety Committee and Residential Neighborhoods <br />Committee. <br />(e) Meeting minutes of all Animal Control Commission meetings shall be <br />maintained and regularly posted on the City's website for the Division of Animal Care and Control with <br />electronic copies being sent to the Shelter Manager, the Law Department, Office of the City Clerk, and <br />the Chairpersons of the Council's Health and Public Safety Committee and Residential Neighborhoods <br />Committee. <br />(4) In the case of vacancy in Commission membership due to death, resignation, incapacity, <br />removal or otherwise, the appointment to fill the vacancy so occurring shall be made by the original <br />appointing body for the unexpired term only. <br />Sec. 5 -97 Duties and Responsibilities of the Animal Control Commission. <br />The Animal Control Commission shall have the following duties and responsibilities: <br />(a)To receive and review recommendations made by the Shelter Manager; <br />(b)To recommend proposed policies, principles, standards and regulations for the control and <br />humane treatment of all animal regulated by this Chapter; <br />(c)To review and make advisory recommendations aimed at improving regulations and <br />enforcement of the regulations codified into this Chapter to the Common Council; <br />(d)To submit to the Mayor and the Common Council no later than March I" of each year a <br />written report of its activities and recommendations; <br />------ ° - ---- - - -_ c <br />(4)Ue To hear appeals within ten (10) working days (excluding holidays and weekends) of any <br />appeal being filed on the determination of <br />(1) An animal being deemed a "potentially dangerous animal "; and/or <br />(2) A person or persons alleged to have "provoked" an animal resulting in a violation of <br />this Chapter. <br />
