HUFF City of South Bend <br />DIRECTOR OF PLANNING South Bend, Indiana <br />Gentlemen: <br />The attached petition of Otto Baker, et al, to annex <br />to the City of South Bend agpmately 25 acres now <br />in Clay Township, being the South Ee outh 1/2 <br />of Section 32, Township 38, Range 3 East, was legally <br />advertised under date of August try, 1956. Said <br />petition was given public hearing by the Commission <br />on September 6, 1956, and the following action was <br />taken: <br />The Commission found that the Portage Realty <br />Corporation, the major land holder, had desired <br />annexation prior to residential development of <br />subject property, and that since the filing <br />of the petition, Portage Realty Corporation had <br />acquired an additional tract of land consisting <br />of approximately 5 acres located contiguous to <br />the northwest boundary of subject annexation <br />petition. The Commission further found that the <br />Portage Realty Corporation desired that petition <br />be amended to include said additional acreage. <br />After due consideration, it was moved, seconded, <br />and unanimously carried that the petition be <br />amended to include the approximate 5 acres adjacent <br />and so favorably recommend to the Council. <br />Very truly yours, <br />CITY — PLANNING COMMISSION <br />Robert L.
