Committee of the Whole Meeting, February 24, 1959. <br />Councilman Muszynski made a motion to amend the Ordinance as follows: <br />"That Section I of the above entitled ordinance be amended to read as follows: <br />"Section I. That the sum of One Million Dollars ($1,000,000.00) be appropriated out of the <br />proceeds of the bonds heretofore authorized to be issued by the Common Council designated as <br />"City,of South Bend, Municipal Bonds of 195911, for the use of the Board of Public Works <br />and Safety in paying the cost of construction, re- construction and improvement of streets; <br />that out of and from said sum of One Million Dollars ($1,000,000.00) there shall first be <br />used by said Board of Public Works and Safety an amount thereof not exceeding Two Hundred <br />Thousand Dollars ($200,000.00) in paying the cost of construction, re- construction and <br />improvement of streets made necessary by the damage thereto occurring during the winter <br />1958 -1959; that from the sum remaining after paying such said cost so many of the following <br />projects shall be constructed as is possible within the limitations of the amount of money <br />so remaining available for the purpose: <br />(The names of the projects, work to be done and estimated cost then follows :) <br />Councilman Tellson seconded the motion.
