<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Office of the Mayor <br /> <br />NEWS RELEASE <br />Wednesday, November 12, 2008 <br />2:30 pm <br /> <br />Contact: <br />Mikki Dobski, Director of Communications & Special Projects, 235-5855 or 876-1564 <br /> <br />CARE of South Bend and South Bend Animal Care and Control launch <br />"Home for the Holidays" <br /> <br /> <br />Launch of fundraising campaign for new facility <br /> <br />The Community Animal Rescue Effort of South Bend (CARE of South Bend) announced <br />plans to launch the official "Home for the Holidays" fundraising campaign for the new <br />South Bend Animal Care and Control (SBACC) facility. <br /> <br />thth <br />On Thursday and Friday, November 13 and 14, CARE of South Bend and SBACC will <br />be hosting a holiday gift sale to benefit the shelter. The event will be held at the County / <br />City Building located at 227 W. Jefferson Blvd in South Bend. There will be a wide <br />variety of "animal centric" gifts available for purchase. 100% of the proceeds from each <br />purchase will go towards the construction of a new animal shelter for the city of South <br />Bend. <br /> <br />In addition to gifts, there will also be animals available for adoption at this event.
