ORDINANCE NO ! /3,F <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3, 6 and 8 OF CHAPTER <br />7 OF GENERAL, ORDINANCE NO 3709, WHICH IS AN ORDINANCE <br />AMENDING SECTION 2, 5 and 8 OF ARTICLE II OF ORDINANCE <br />NO 3312 ADOPTED ON THE 8th DAY OF JANUARYF 1940 <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana: <br />Section 1. That Section 3 of Chapter 7 of General Ordinances No. 3709, which <br />is an ordinance amending Section 2 of Article II of'Ordinance No. 3312 <br />adopted on the 8th day of January, 1940 be and the same is hereby,amended to <br />read as follows: <br />The city controller is hereby authorized and directed to issue all <br />bicycle licenses. No license shall be issued except upon written <br />application by the person seeking the license and until such appli- <br />cation has been approved by the chief of police. All licenses issued <br />under the provisions of this chapter shall expire on March 1st <br />three years after its issuance. <br />Section 2. That Section 6 of Chapter 7 of General Ordinance No. 3709, which <br />is an ordinance amending Section 8 of Article II of Ordinance No. 3312 <br />adopted on the 8th day of January, 1940 be and the same is- hereby amended to <br />read as follows: <br />The license fee to be paid for each bicycle shall be twenty -five <br />cents and each renewal thereof shall be twenty -five cents. All <br />license fees shall be paid in advance to the city controller at the <br />time of registration. Upon loss of any license plate, and upon <br />application and satisfactory evidence of such loss, a new license <br />shall be issued upon the payment of a fee of twenty -Rive cents. <br />Section 3. That Section 8 of Chapter 7 of General Ordinance No. 3709, which <br />is an ordinance amending Section 5 of Article II of Ordinance No. 3312 <br />adopted on the 8th day of January, 1940 be and the same is hereby amended <br />to read as follows: <br />The chief of police shall inspect each bicycle previous to regis- <br />tration and he shall have the authority to refuse to approve any such <br />bicycle found by him to be not properly equipped or in unsafe <br />mechanical condition. <br />Section 4.
