ORDINANCE NO. 422(1 <br />AN ORDINANCE TO PROHIBIT THE SALE OF BABY <br />RABBITS, CHICKS, GOSLINGS, DUCKLINGS OR OTHER <br />FOWL FOR NON - POULTRY PURPOSES, AS PLAYTHINGS, <br />NOVELTIES OR FOR DECORATIVE PURPOSES. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SOUTH BEND, INDIANA: <br />SECTION I, It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to sell or offer <br />for sale, barter, or give away baby rabbits, chicks, goslings, ducklings or other <br />fowl as pets or novelties. This ordinance shall not be construed to prohibit the sale <br />or display of natural chicks or ducklings in proper brooder facilities by hatcheries <br />or stores engaged in the business of selling them to be raised for commercial purposes. <br />SECTION I I, Any violation of these provisions or failure to comply with any of said <br />provisions, shall be punishable by a fine not to exceed Three Hundred ($300. 00) Dollars <br />or by imprisonment not to exceed thirty (30) days, or both, and each day such violation <br />shall continue shall be deemed a separate and distinct offense. <br />SECTION III.
