HUFF DIRECTOR OF PLANNING The Honorable Common Council City of South Bend South Bend, Indiana Gentlemen: September 12, 1960 The attached petition of Monsignor Elmer G. Peterson, Sacred Heart Church for Diocese of Fort Wayne, Inc., to annex to the City of South Bend the following described property Beginning at a point in the SW4, Sec. 27, T38N, R2E, at the intersection of the East -West center- line of Section 27 and the present North -South city limits, thence South along said City Limits for a dis- tance of Six Hundred Eighty and Seventy -Four Hundredths (680.74) feet to a point of intersection of said City Limits and the North line of Highland Cemetery extended East, thence West along the North line of Highland Cemetery for a distance of Five Hundred Eighty (580) feet, more or less, to a cross in a concrete marker, thence North for a distance of Six Hundred Eighty and Seventy - four Hundredths (680.74) feet to the East -West center- line of said Section 27, thence East along the East - West centerline of said Section 27 for a distance of Five Hundred Eighty (580) feet, more or less, to the point of beginning containing approximately Nine (9) acres was legally advertised on August 22, 1960 and given public hearing under date of September 8, 1960. The following action was taken: After due consideration the Commission found that in their opinion: 1. The annexation is in the best interests of the city and of the territory sought to be annexed.
