CLERK-5OUTHBEND- <br />RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF I' IC WORKS <br />AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF _-SOUTH BEND <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of <br />South Bend has determined that it would be for the best interests of <br />said City and its citizens to provide for the construction of storm, <br />sanitary and other sewers to Maple Road for the Northwest Industrial <br />Development area, as well as in the area of LaFayette Boulevard and <br />Iroquois Avenue located North of the St. Joseph River and in the <br />Chippewa Avenue and Ireland Road areas, and that the construction <br />of such improvements is necessary in order to protect the well —being <br />and property of the citizens and will be of general benefit to the <br />entire City; and <br />WHEREAS, said Board has determined that the funds necessary to <br />be provided to pay the cost of said projects, including engineering <br />and surveys and the incidental expenses necessary to be. incurred in <br />connection therewith, will be in the amount of Eight Hundred Seventy <br />Thousand Dollars (38709000); and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of <br />South Bend has further determined that it would be for the best <br />interests of said City and its citizens to provide for the acquiring <br />of lands and rights —of —way for a new Sample Street bridge, and, further, <br />to provide for major thoroughfare improvements and acquisition of rights - <br />of —way therefor, and that the making of such improvements and the ac- <br />quiring of such lands and rights —of —way are necessary in order to <br />protect the well —being and property of the citizens and will be of <br />general benefit to the entire City; and <br />WHEREAS, said Board has determined that the funds necessary to <br />be provided to pay the cost of the foregoing projects, including all <br />Incidental expenses necessary to be incurred in connection therewith, <br />will be in the amount of Two Hundred and Thirty Thousand Dollars <br />(5230000); ngw therefore.. <br />
