HUFF <br />DIRECTOR OF PLANNING <br />The Honorable Common Council <br />City of South Bend <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Gentlemen: <br />February 23, 1960 <br />The attached petition of the Industrial Foundation, Inc., <br />et al, to rezone the No. 2 of the SE; of Sec. 33, T38N, <br />R2E, generally described as lying east of Sheridan Avenue, <br />west of Maple Road and north of Keller Street to the <br />present city limits, except the following parcel, to wit: <br />Commencing at the point of the intersection of the north <br />line of Keller Street with the east line of North Illinois <br />Street as extended; thence north 400 feet; thence east <br />1266.25 feet; thence south to the north line of Keller <br />Street to the point of beginning from "A" Residential Use <br />and "A" Height and Area District to "E" Heavy Industrial <br />Use and an "A" Height and Area District was legally adver- <br />tised on February 9, 1960 and given public hearing under <br />date of February 19, 1960. The following action was taken: <br />After due consideration the Commission found that <br />the subject land was not suitable for residential <br />development; that its best use is for industrial <br />purposes; and that the proposed industrial zoning <br />will be in accordance with the spirit of the <br />Zoning Ordinance.
