SECTION 4. <br />(A) It shall be unlawful to hang, enlarge or rehang any sign covered in this <br />Ordinance unless a permit has been obtained from the Electrical Inspection <br />Department. <br />(B) No attachment or addition to signs shall be made to an illuminated sign <br />unless a permit has been issued for the express purpose of allowing such <br />attachment. <br />SECTION 5. <br />APPLICATIONS; <br />Applications for permits for illuminated signs shall be.made only for bonded <br />sign erector and shall be countersigned by licensed electrical contractor who <br />does all electrical connections from building to sign. <br />SECTION 6. <br />DRAWINGS REQUIRED. <br />Drawing prepared by licensed architect or structural engineer and bearing his <br />seal shall be presented with permit application for signs in the following <br />categories. <br />1. Supported by canopy. <br />2. Exceeding 799 pounds or 75 or more square feet in area of one <br />face of a projecting sign. <br />3. Held by diverging guys or supports at angles less than 45 degrees <br />with the sign structure. <br />4. Projecting signs having more than 40% of vertical dimension above roof <br />line and containing more than 40 square feet in area of one face. <br />5. Cranes supported by roof structures, provided area of sign exceeds <br />more than 40 square feet in area of one face. <br />6. Supported other than by chains. <br />- 3 - <br />
