shall be non- combustible,.non- absorptive and approved for the voltage of <br />the circuit. <br />(E) SWITCHES ON DOORS. Doors or covers giving access to uninsulated parts of <br />outline lighting exceeding 600 volts and accessible to the general public, <br />either be provided with interlock switches which on the opening of the doors <br />or covers disconnect the primary circuit, or shall be so fastened that the use <br />of other than ordinary tools will be necessary to open them. <br />(F) ENCLOSURES. Enclosures for outline lighting shall conform to the follow- <br />ing; <br />1. CONDUCTORS AND TERM MU S. Cabinets and outline troughs shall have <br />conductors and terminals, except the supply leads, enclosed. <br />2. CUTOUTS, FLASHERS, ETC,, Cutouts, flashers and similar devices shall <br />be enclosed in metal boxes the doors of which shall be arranged so that <br />they can be opened without removing obstructions or finished parts of the <br />enclosure. <br />3. ENCLOSURES EXPOSED TO WEATHER. Enclosures for outside use shall be <br />weatherproof and shall have an ample number of drain holes, each not <br />larger than V2 inch or smaller than V4 inch. <br />4. MATERIAL. Outline lighting shall be constructed of metal or other <br />non - combustible material. <br />5. STRENGTH. Enclosures shall have ample strength and rigidity. <br />6. THICKNESS OF METAL, Sheet copper shall be at least 20 ounce (0.028 <br />inch). Sheet steel may be of No. 28 USS gauge (.0149 inch) except that <br />for outline lighting sheet steel shall be of No. 24 USS gauge (.0239 inch)} <br />unless ribbed, corrugated or embossed over its entire surface, when it <br />may be of No. 26 USS gauge (.0179 inch). <br />NEON GAS WINDOW SIGNS (INSIDE); <br />SECTION 18. <br />- 26 - <br />
