ORDINANCE NO. 1 ~ ~ ~ - ~ O <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH <br />BEND, INDIANA, ANNEXING TO AND BRINGING WITHIN THE CITY <br />LIMITS OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA CERTAIN LAND IN CENTRE <br />TOWNSHIP CONTIGUOUS THEREWITH; <br />ROYAL OAK ESTATES AND COMMUNITY BAPTIST CHURCH <br />STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT <br />A petition for voluntary annexation of 89.674 acres located in Centre Township, St. <br />Joseph County, Indiana, has been filed by one hundred percent (100%) of the owners of <br />land in the territory sought to be annexed. It is the intent and purpose of this Ordinance to <br />annex this territory to the City of South Bend, Indiana. <br />THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION I. That the following described real estate situated in St. Joseph County, _ <br />Indiana, being contiguous by more than one-eighth (1/8) of its aggregate boundaries with <br />the present boundaries of the City of South Bend, Indiana, shall be and hereby is annexed <br />and brought within the City of South Bend: <br />A parcel of land being of the East Half of Section 36, Township 37 North, Range 2 East, <br />Centre Township, St. Joseph County, Indiana and being more particularly described as <br />follows: <br />Commencing at the intersection of the Centerline of Johnson Road, also being the Old <br />Indiana-Michigan Boundary Line, and the East Line of said Section 36, also being the <br />Centerline of Miami Highway; thence North 89 Deg 50 Min 52 Sec West along said <br />Centerline of Johnson Road, 1,307.63 feet to the Place of Beginning. Thence Northerly <br />40.00 feet to the North Right-Of--Way Line of Johnson Road; thence North 89 Deg 50 <br />Min 52 Sec West along said North Right-Of--Way Line, 1,206.75 feet; thence South ODeg <br />11 Min 27 Sec West, 285.12 feet; thence North 89 Deg 48 Min 33 Sec West, 177.00 feet <br />to the North-South Centerline of said Section 36; thence South 0 Deg 11 Min 27 Sec <br />West along said North-South Centerline, 1,600.83 feet; thence North 86 Deg 41 Min 40 <br />Sec West, 1377.72 feet; thence Easterly 643.42 feet; thence Northerly 320.74 feet; thence <br />Easterly 694.58 feet to the said East Line of said Section 36; thence Northerly along said <br />East Line, 75.00 feet; thence Westerly 280.00 feet; thence Northerly 887.00 feet; thence <br />Westerly 1,047.13 feet, thence Northerly 638.20 feet to the Place of Beginning. <br />SECTION II. That the boundaries of the City of South Bend, Indiana, shall be and are <br />hereby declared to be annexed so as to include the real estate of the above described <br />parcel as a part of the City of South Bend, Indiana. <br />
