South Bend Redevelopment Commission Regular Meeting–April 24,2014 6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.) H. Other Heritage Homes Southeast as well as a myriad of single family houses and other structures; and WHEREAS, Jeff always pushed organizations and individuals to do more than they thought that they could do and make them happy with the result; and WHEREAS, Jeff was able to relate to a wide array of people in our community—sharing his vision and passion for what could be; and WHEREAS, with Jeff's passing the community has lost a great visionary, leader and friend; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the South Bend Redevelopment Commission hereby honors Jeffrey V. Gibney for his extraordinary commitment and distinguished service to the City of South Bend;posthumously thanks him for the outstanding contributions he has made; and declares it will sincerely miss his diligent work in the community. ADOPTED at a meeting of the South Bend Redevelopment Commission held on April 24, 2014, at 1308 County-City Building, 227 W. Jefferson Boulevard, South Bend, Indiana 46601. Upon a motion by Mr. Varner, seconded by Ms. Schey and unanimously carried,the Commission approved Resolution No. 3210 honoring Jeffrey V. Gibney for extraordinary service to the South Bend Community and South Bend Redevelopment Commission. A. Public Hearings (1) Public Hearing on Resolution No. 3211 authorizing the issuance of bonds for the purpose of providing funds to be applied to pay for the refunding of certain outstanding South Bend Redevelopment District Special Taxing District Bonds of 2002 and to pay incidental expenses in connection therewith and on account of the issuance of the bonds, and appropriating the proceeds thereof. Mr. Zeeb noted that Resolution No. 3211 authorizes the issuance of refunding bonds of the Redevelopment District(the"Refunding Bonds")that would be issued to refund the South Bend Redevelopment District Special Taxing District Bonds of 2002 (the"2002 Bonds") and appropriates the proceeds of the refunding bonds. The 2002 Bonds are outstanding in the principal amount of$3,405,000. It is anticipated that refunding of the 2002 Bonds will result in a significant savings for the Redevelopment Commission. Like the 2002 Bonds, it is anticipated that all the debt service on the Refunding Bonds will be paid from TIF Revenues from the Airport TIF Area. In order to increase the marketability of the Bonds, 5
