ORDINANCE NO. 4-3 J"g- AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE PROTECTION OF POLICE REPORTING SYSTEM AND PROHIBITING THE USE OF SAID REPORTING SYSTEM FOR ANY PURPOSE OTHER THAN MATTERS PERTAINING TO POLICE OR FIREMEN. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA: SECTION I. That the Chief of Police of the Municipal City of South Bend, sub- ject to the orders and directions of the Board of Public Works and Safety of said. City shall have the entire control, management and supervision of the Police Department Reporting System, which shall include but not be limited to, the location for the placement of reporting units and the removal of same to other locations at any time as well as the addition of such units at new lo- cations; the management and supervision of all apparatus, instruments, wires, boxes and any and all material and supplies incident to the effective operation of said system. SECTION II, It shall be unlawful to tamper with, injure, deface, destroy or remove any sign, notice, marker, police reporting unit, or any and all other portions or parts of said, police reporting system wherever it may be located. SECTION III. It shall be unlawful for any person to cause said reporting system to be used for any purpose other than an emergency involving the South Bend Police Department or the South Bend Fire Department. SECTION IV. Any person or persons found guilty of violating any of the sections or provisions of this ordinance shall be punishable by a fine not to exceed Three Hundred ($300. 00) Dollars.
