ORDINANCE NO. <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE DONATION <br />OF LAND TO AID IN THE ERECTING OF AN <br />ARMORY IN THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND <br />, WHEREAS, due to the construction and reconstruction of the Sample <br />Street Bridge, it has been necessary for the State Armory to plan <br />removal of their facilities to another location, and <br />WHEREAS, due to the construction and reconstruction of the Sample <br />Street Bridge, it is necessary for the United States Naval and Marine <br />Corps Training Center to contemplate removal to another area in the <br />City of South Bend, and <br />WHEREAS, the site presently occupied by the State Armory is to be <br />utilized by said Sample Street project, and <br />WHEREAS, the site occupied by the United States Naval and Marine <br />Corps Training Center is to be utilized by the Sample Street project, and <br />WHEREAS, in exchange for said sites being made available for the <br />Sample Street project construction and reconstruction, the City of South <br />Bend, has agreed to grant and donate land for a site to be used by said <br />State Armory, and, if desired, by the United States Naval and Marine <br />Corps Training Center, and <br />WHEREAS, there is a separate agreement pending between the State <br />Armory Board and the District Public Works Office Ninth Naval District <br />of Great Lakes, Illinois, for a joint facility on said proposed site, and <br />
