CLAIMS REVIEW MEETING APRIL IS 2014 128 <br />A Claims Review Meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 8:38 a.m. on Tuesday, <br />April 15, 2014, by Board President Gary Gilot with Board Members Kathryn Roos, David Relos, <br />Patrick Henthorn, and Brian Pawlowski present. . <br />ADDITIONS TO THE AGENDA <br />Mr. Gilot noted the addition to the agenda of a Termination and Assignment Agreement and <br />Addendum with Jackson Trucking and Excavating. <br />APPROVE CLAIMS <br />Ms. Roos stated that a request to pay claims has been received by the Board; each claim is fully <br />supported by an invoice; the person receiving the goods or services has approved the claims; and <br />the claims have been filed with the City Fiscal Officer and certified for accuracy. Ms. Roos <br />stated the following claims were submitted to the Board for at)nroval: <br />Name <br />Amount of Claim <br />Date <br />City of South Bend <br />$4,743,995.91 <br />04/11/2014 <br />City of South Bend <br />$2,095,460.04 <br />04/15/2014 <br />Ms. Roos made a motion that after review of the expenditures, the remaining claims be approved <br />separately as submitted. Mr. Relos seconded the motion, which carried. <br />APPROVE TERMINATION AND ASSIGN AGREEMENT AND ADDENDUM — <br />JACKSON TRUCKING AND EXCAVATING <br />In a memo to the Board, Attorney Cheryl Greene stated by this agreement, the City and Jackson <br />Trucking and Excavation mutually agreed to partially terminate a demolition contract related to <br />the Vacant and Abandoned initiative. She noted Jackson Trucking will retain the right to <br />complete demolition work on certain properties which have an expiring demolition order, and <br />will release its rights on the other properties and authorize the City to assign Jackson's contract <br />rights to a third party. Upon a motion by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Ms. Roos and carried, the <br />agreement and addendum were approved. <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, <br />seconded by Ms. Roos and carried, the meeting adjourned at 8:42 a.m. <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />Brian J.
