REGULAR MEETING <br />APRIL 8, 2014 126 <br />DESCRIPTION: Barricades at 20"' Street and Vine Street, and Entrance to <br />Parking Lot; Place Message Boards on Mishawaka Ave. <br />before and after 20th Street <br />DATE/TIME: May 10, 2014; 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. <br />Upon a motion made by Ms. Roos, seconded by Mr. Henthorn and carried, the following traffic <br />control device was approved: <br />NEW INSTALLATION: Handicapped Accessible Parking Space Sign <br />LOCATION: 1721 S. Taylor St. <br />REMARKS: All Criteria Met <br />APPROVE RELEASE OF EXCAVATION BOND <br />Mr. Anthony Molnar, Division of Engineering, recommended that the following Excavation <br />Bond be released as follows: <br />Business <br />Bond Type <br />Approved/ <br />Released <br />Effective Date <br />McIntyre -Jones, Inc. <br />Excavation <br />Release <br />May 5, 2014 <br />Ms. Roos made a motion that the Bond's release as outlined above be approved. Mr. Relos <br />seconded the motion, which carried. <br />APPROVE CLAIMS <br />Ms. Roos stated that a request to pay the following claims in the amounts indicated has been <br />received by the Board; each claim is fully supported by an invoice; the person receiving the <br />goods or services has approved the claims; and the claims have been filed with the City Fiscal <br />Officer and certified for accuracy. <br />Name <br />Amount of Claim <br />Date <br />City of South Bend <br />$1,441.15 <br />04/03/2014 <br />City of South Bend <br />$628,169,71 <br />04/08/2014 <br />St. Joseph County Housing Consortium <br />$1,257.15 <br />03/28/2014 <br />Therefore, Ms. Roos made a motion that after review of the expenditures, the claims be approved <br />as submitted. Mr. Relos seconded the motion, which carried. <br />PRIVILEGE OF THE FLOOR <br />Mr. Jim Bognar was present and informed the Board that last Tuesday the Traffic and Lighting <br />crew appeared at the corner of Chapin Street and Washington Street. He noted they were <br />professional and did a fantastic job improving the lighting dramatically. Mr. Bognar stated he <br />wanted to thank the Board for all of their efforts on his request for a street light at the corner, and <br />publicly thank the Street Department for a fantastic job. He noted too often they don't get a thank <br />you for the excellent work they do. The Board Members thanked him for coming to the Board <br />meeting and sharing his appreciation of all for the work done. <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, <br />seconded by Ms. Roos and carried, the meeting adjourned at 10:12 a.m. <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />Gary A.
