ORDINANCE N0. ~ ZID -oI <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, <br />INDIANA, AMENDING ARTICLE 10, SIGN REGULATIONS, OF CHAPTER 21, <br />ZONING, OF THE SOUTH BEND MUNICIPAL CODE BY REVISING AND LIMITING <br />THE SIZE, SEPARATION DISTANCE, DISPLAY AREA AND <br />HEIGHT OF OUTDOOR ADVERTISING SIGNS <br />STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND. INTENT <br />The purpose of this ordinance is to amend Chapter 21 of the. <br />Municipal Code to modify the regulations regarding outdoor <br />advertising signs. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. Section 21.170 of Article 10 Chapter 21 of the <br />South Bend Municipal Code is amended to read as follows: <br />Sec. 21.170.(6) "C" Commercial, "D" Light Industrial, <br />and "E" Heavy Industrial Districts: <br />(d)(1) The maximum display area of outdoor <br />advertising signs located on arterial streets, as <br />established in the Lonct Range <br />Transportation Plan as determined by the Michiana <br />Area Council of Governments, and limited access <br />highways, shall be , <br />.--'-_~ ~ __'---_--`_ six hundred seventy-two (672) <br />square feet. Two tiered, deck or stacked signs shall <br />be prohibited. <br />The maximum display area of outdoor advertising signs <br />located on collector streets, as established in the <br />Long Range Transportation Plan <br />as determined by the Michiana Area Council of <br />Governments, shall be three hundred (300) <br />square feet. <br />
