RECOMMENDATION Based on the Historic Preservation Commission's Local Landmark Criteria's adopted by the Common Council, the site and structure at 1031 E. Jefferson/123 N. Eddy has been recommended to the Common Council for designation as a Local Landmark by the Historic Preservation Commission. The building and site meet three of the criteria: 1) Its embodiment of elements or architectural design, detail, material or craftsmanship which represents an architectural characteristic or innovation; 2) Its suitability for preservation. 3) Its identification with the life of a person or persons of historical significants. The site and structure fulfill criteria #1 as a wonderfully detailed example of a Queen Anne style house complete with carriage house. This structure is rated a S/12 in the Indiana Historic Sites and Structures Inventory. The site and structure fulfill criteria #2 by its integrity of original construction with virtually no significant alterations in over 100 years.
