CPC
CITY PLANNING COMMISSION
129 W. COLFAX AVENUE. SOUTH BEND. INDIANA •]t'MX1%VIy(GTFWK MAYOR
Lloyd M. Allen
January 10, 1964
The Honorable Common Council
City of South Bend
South Bend, Indiana
Gentlemen:
'J. FRANK MILES. cBe--
UALEN B. SARGENT, vieE.eReeioex
RAYMOND S. ANDRYSIAK
RICHARD KDOMKOWSKI
• RESTER ZYNSKI
RICHARD VAN PARIS
FORREST ROY A. WOROCH
ROBERT L. HUFF
The attached petition of DeWitt Marshall, 134 S. Meade
Street, to rezone from "B" Residential Use and "A"
Height and Area District to "C" Commercial Use and "A"
Height and Area District Lot 615 Summit Place 3rd
Addition, being more generally described as 142 S. Meade
Street was legally advertised under date of December 30,
1963 and given public hearing on January 9, 1964. The
following action was taken:
After due consideration the Commission found
that the favorable recommendation of the petition
would result in spot zoning and therefore could
devaluate the surrounding property, the rezoning
would confer on the owner certain rights not
enjoyed by other property owners and that the
sole purpose of the rezoning was to allow the
erection of an auto repair garage. It was
therefore duly moved, seconded, and unanimously
carried that the petition be recommended
unfavorably to the Council.
Very truly yours,
CITY PLANNING COMMIISSIO /N
Robert L. Huff,
Director of Planning
RLH /cf
attach.
