Dieter Dear Council Members: <br />First District <br /> The undersigned Council Members who represent the Common Council on the City <br />Henry Davis, Jr. Advisory Negotiating Team, are pleased to file the attached ordinance for your review, <br />Second District discussion and approval. This ordinance will establish maximum salary and fringe <br /> benefit amounts for sworn members of the South Bend Fire Department for 2009. <br />Thomas LaFountain <br />Third District The ordinance sets forth the monetary components of the tentative agreement reached <br />Ann Puzzello on Monday, August 25~' between the Fire Negotiating Team representing sworn <br />Fourth District members of the South Bend Firefighters' Association Local No. 362 of the International <br /> Association of Firefighters AFL-CIO and the City Advisory Negotiating representing <br />David Varner the Common Council, Board of Public Safety and the Fire and City Administrations. <br />Fifth District <br /> Voting on the package by the South Bend Firefighters continues this week, and results <br />Oliver j. Davis will not be available before the filing deadline for this proposed ordinance. Indiana state <br />Sixth District law requires the Common Council to pass a salary ordinance by September 30~'. <br />Al "Buddy" Kirsits <br />At Large <br />Some of the key provisions of the monetary package which we are recommending for <br /> your approval include the following: <br />Timothy A. Rouse <br />At Large • Creation of a longevity program in recognition of cumulative years of service on the <br /> South Bend Fire Department <br />Karen L. White <br />At Large . Base pay increases effective the first payroll period in the second quarter of 2009 <br />Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand (April 3, 2009) of 1.65% across the board for all ranks except Firefighter 1St Class <br />Council Attorney who will receive effective January 1, 2009 a 2% increase. <br />• All other monetary fringe benefits will remain at 20081evels. <br />As members of the City Advisory Negotiating Team, we would like to thank all members of the Fire <br />Negotiating Team representing sworn members of the South Bend Firefighters' Association Local No. <br />362 of the International Association of Firefighters AFL-CIO for their working with the City Advisory <br />
