South Bend Central Development Area <br />(1) continued... <br />parking lotto the north in order to <br />consolidate the disposition parcel with the <br />additional land area required by the <br />development. Easement releases have been <br />granted by all but one utility, and staff is <br />working through that currently with the City <br />Engineer and NIPSCO. This contract allows <br />for a little more time (150 days) to complete <br />this due diligence phase, and also addresses <br />our concern that public parking be provided <br />until the time construction begins. By this <br />amendment the Commission would be <br />allowed to lease back the property after <br />closing, provided we assume responsibility <br />for the expenses and management of parking <br />until either the developer begins excavation <br />work on the site or March 15, 2009. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Downes, seconded by <br />Mr. Blake and unanimously carried, the <br />Commission approved the First Amendment <br />to Contract for Sale of Land for Private <br />Development and Development Agreement. <br />(NW corner St. Joseph and Jefferson) <br />(3) Option Contract with LaSalle Housing <br />Partners, L.P. (LaSalle Hotel) <br />Item 6.B.(3) was tabled. <br />(4) Staff report on disposition of property in <br />the South Bend Central Development <br />Area. (Former Rink Riverside site) <br />Ms. Laurent noted that Andy Place Sr. and <br />Andy Place Jr. of PlaceBuilders, Inc. have <br />COMMISSION APPROVED THE FIRST <br />AMENDMENT TO CONTRACT FOR SALE OF LAND <br />FOR PRIVATE DEVELOPMENT AND <br />DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT.
