5pD T$BE O V\Iii�ClJii O v x X865 CITY OF SOUTH BEND PETE BUTTIGIEG, MAYOR OFFICE OF THE MAYOR NOTICE OF EXECUTIVE ORDER 1-2014 Amending the City of South Bend Ethics Code as originally set out in Executive Order 1-2012 and Amended April 19, 2013. Notice is hereby given that on the atlhday of February,2014,the Mayor of the City of South Bend, Indiana, executed Executive Order No. 1-2014 which amends Executive Order 1-2012. The significant amendments are summarized below. 1. Headings have been added to enhance readability: Definitions, The Gift Rule,Exceptions to the Gift Rule, Waiver, Political Activity, Conflicts of Interest. 2. The word original in the first introductory paragraph has been deleted, and the second introductory paragraph has been modified to clearly define the applicability of the Ethics Code. 3. Throughout the Order,the words City of South Bend have been modified to City, after the first reference. 4. Throughout the Order,references to any combination of the words officers, officials, appointees, and employees have been modified to the words appointees, employees, or officials. 5. Throughout the Order,the word agency and any combination of the words, board, commission, and department have been replaced with the words board, commission, department, or office(except in quoted material). 6. A Definitions section has been created after the introductory paragraph of the document, preceding the numbered sections. The definition of`confidential information"has been relocated from Section 7. The definition of relatire has been relocated from Section 8. The definition of"honoraria"has been added. 7. From the definition of confidential information, the following words have been deleted: (including, but not limited to e-snails and electronic records). 8.
