LUECKE, MAYOR OFFICE OF THE MAYOR August 22, 2001 Ms. Charlotte Pfeifer, President South Bend Common Council 4`h Floor, County-City Building South Bend, IN 46601 Re: An Ordinance of the Common Council of the City of South Bend to Appropriate Funds from Hall of Fame Operations Fund #677 and from College Football Hall of Fame Fund #377 for Purposes of Satisfying the City's Obligation to the National Football Faundation Dear Ms eifer: /f~~`''"" We have finally reached an interim agreement with the National Football Foundation which gives them full responsibility for the operations of the College Football Hall of Fame for five years. We expect to have copies of the signed document for each Council Member later today. As part of the agreement we need to provide certain funds to the NFF. Last year, during the budget process, the Council appropriated money from the Hotel-Motel Tax Fund and the Professional Sports Development Fund. Now that an agreement has been signed, we need to transfer the operating cash balance for the Hall as of December 31, 2000, as well as income for the Hall that we received during the first five months of 2001 before the NFF officially took control. This ordinance appropriates those dollars and also increases the Professional Sports Development appropriation to more accurately reflect the amount to be received.
